Moving to Chile with your dog

Long stays and relocation
Long-term care while you settle into Chile
Moving to a new country is exciting, but it can also be overwhelming, especially when you're bringing your dog with you.
At The Place's, we've spent more than 10 years helping families, expats, travelers and relocating professionals provide safe, structured, long-term care for their dogs while they adjust to life in Chile.
What sets us apart is that we don't just board dogs: we provide full support during relocation, both into Chile and from Chile to other countries, backed by professional veterinary supervision.
What Chile requires to let your dog in
To bring a dog into Chile, the Agriculture and Livestock Service (SAG) asks for documents that you show at border control when you arrive:
- An original International Veterinary Certificate, issued by the official veterinary authority of the country of origin.
- The certificate is valid for 10 days from issue, extendable by up to 5 more days.
- A current rabies vaccine.
- Internal and external deworming.
- Permanent identification: a microchip or tattoo.
- From the European Union, the EU pet passport is accepted.
